Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled

QS Cost Controller

to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring project costs, analyzing financial data, and ensuring cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and experience in quantity surveying and cost control within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

Develop and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.

Cost Control & Monitoring:

Track project expenditures, ensuring they align with budgetary constraints.

BOQ & Valuation:

Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), progress valuations, and cost reports.

Procurement & Vendor Management:

Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare cost reports, cash flow projections, and financial risk assessments.

Change & Variation Management:

Assess and document variations, claims, and additional costs.

Contract Administration:

Review contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and cost control procedures.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency.

Risk Assessment:

Identify potential cost risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Final Accounts & Auditing:

Assist in project close-out, final cost reconciliation, and audits.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum

5+ years

of experience in cost control, quantity surveying, or financial management in construction. Strong knowledge of cost control procedures, contract management, and BOQ preparation. Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., SAP, Primavera, CostX, Excel). Excellent analytical and negotiation skills. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market pricing. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
