Job Summary:The OHSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the organizations operations are conducted safely and in compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves identifying potential hazards, implementing safety measures, monitoring compliance, and promoting a safety culture within the company. The OHSE Engineer also ensures environmental protection standards are adhered to and strives to mitigate risks associated with operations.Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
Perform safety inspections and monitor workplace conditions to ensure compliance with OHSE standards.
Lead and participate in safety training programs for employees and contractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations by monitoring waste management, emissions, and hazardous material handling.
Provide expert advice to management on safety issues and offer recommendations for improving health and safety practices.
Coordinate emergency response drills and assist in emergency preparedness planning.
Maintain up-to-date records of all safety inspections, training, and accident reports.
Ensure all necessary safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and in good condition.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure OHSE requirements are integrated into all operational activities.
Keep updated on industry regulations, best practices, and new safety technologies to continuously improve the OHSE program.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of OHSE regulations and standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and OHSE management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices is a plus.
