Job Description

Job Summary:

The QC Technician for Blow Molding and Injection Molding is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of molded products throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring the molding process, performing quality tests, and ensuring that finished products meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Testing:

Inspect molded parts and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements. Perform visual, dimensional, and functional tests on blow-molded and injection-molded products using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments. Conduct physical property tests (e.g., tensile strength, impact resistance, etc.) on molded parts.

Process Monitoring:

Monitor the molding process for any inconsistencies or defects (such as flash, warping, short shots, etc.) and ensure corrective actions are taken. Record and maintain data related to molding cycle times, process parameters, and product quality. Work with machine operators to troubleshoot issues related to the molding process.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit quality control reports, detailing any non-conformities or deviations from specifications. Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to provide feedback on mold design, material selection, and process optimization.

Material Inspection:

Inspect raw materials (resins, additives, etc.) for compliance with quality specifications before they are introduced into the molding process. Assist in evaluating and approving new materials for use in blow molding and injection molding processes.

Problem Resolution:

Investigate and identify root causes of quality issues or defects in the molded products. Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve product quality issues and ensure continuous improvement in the molding processes.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO or other industry certifications. Perform audits and inspections to maintain the highest quality standards in production.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments such as production, engineering, and maintenance to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and high-quality outputs.
