About the job:
Kent is recruiting for the QC Inspector (Tanks) position. You will be an integrated part of the EPC team managing projects on behalf of Kent and our Client. You will be required to support all phases of the projects to suit the needs and requirements of Kent as well as our client.
Skills and Responsibilities: • Assist and contribute to the project to meet its safety targets and advise on safety improvements.
• Assist the team leader and be a team player, collaborate, and add value to the assigned project.
• Coordinate/Communicate with all disciplines, Contractor, and Client.
• Assist and support the team leader to manage all aspects of projects from early stage to implementation and handover.
• As applicable review Contractor's inspection deliverables as required and applicable to own field and ensure all Contractor's
• activities performed meets contractual obligations, codes & standards, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• If required, perform inspection activities, and produce deliverables in your own field as part of the team.
• Support the Senior Inspector in coordinating with the project team internally and in other functions as well as with clients, as required, to develop/finalise inspection processes and procedures in own field to meet their project needs with the ability to interpret Client specifications.
• Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions in conjunction with the line managers in own field, and advise Client if necessary, and ask for assistance when required.
• If required, assist, support and help in developing junior personnel within the team.
• If required, support the Senior Inspector during field activities relevant to own discipline.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract by raising technical queries relevant to own field with projects / client.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in in own field .
• Liaising with other inspectors and disciplines relevant to own field to ensure updates to relevant standards are maintained and disseminated to the team.
• Monitoring and reporting the professional man hours to the line manager in own field and assessing the progress and quality of work.
• Advise project resource requirements in conjunction with the line manager in own field.
• Adhere to the best practices, standards, and procedures.
• Knowledgeable in the use of computer software in relevant key discipline.
• Providing expertise to queries from field team and subcontractors, as applicable and relevant to own discipline and suggest resolutions in conjunction with the line manager.
• Maintaining project documentation.
• Ensure that materials and equipment applicable to our own field received at the project site are properly inspected, stored, maintained, marked, identified, and documented.
• Inspection duties could include, as applicable to own field, photographs and field notes, measurements, red-line drawings, payment quantities, review of changes, application of specifications, non-destructive testing...etc.
• Assist the Senior Inspector in performing field inspection of contractor's operations to see that they comply with contract documents.
• Assist the Senior Inspector in performing, as applicable to own field, accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies per Inspection Plans, drawings, and other specification requirements.
• Assist the Senior Inspector in performing, as applicable to own field, test data compilation, e.g. datasheets, are as per contract requirements.
• Assists the Senior Inspector in carrying out the tasks associated with the Quality Program by performing, as applicable to own discipline, equipment checks, calibrations, and routine maintenance of the field equipment to ensure safety, professionalism and integrity of tests performed.
• As applicable, perform work outside in all types of weather.
• Supporting the Senior Inspector and the project in liaison between the contractor, client's staff, utility companies, local municipalities, as required and applicable to own field.
• Verification and documentation that all work, as applicable to own field, is being constructed in accordance with the construction contract.
• As the project nears completion, determine Contractor achievement of both Substantial Completion and Final Completion documentation/dossier.
• Prepare personally and supervise and coordinate the preparation by others of Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs) applicable to own field.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Certification: • Bachelor or Diploma in Engineering
• As minimum 10 years, including 3 years (preferred) in GCC region
Skills Requirement: • Communication Skills
• Work in office and Site based environments
• Capable of using the appropriate software
Communication: • Adequate interpersonal and analytical attributes
• Able to effectively communicate technical issues to peers and line manager (written and verbal).
Core Competencies :• Adequate foundation in ISO standards, continuous improvement methodologies, and inspection quality management systems.
• Adequate capability of collating, verifying and handling inspection information and producing instructions.
• Adequate knowledge and communication skills in project inspection quality management.
• Adequate proficiency in software and tools relevant to own inspection field.
• Adequate knowledge of contractual inspection quality requirements.
• Adequate knowledge of all quality processes of constructions inspection, including welding, NDT techniques...etc.
• Adequate understanding of Core Engineering Terminologies.
• Adequate knowledge of how to handle risks and mitigation measures.
• Adequate interpersonal attributes.
• Ownership of responsibility for work.
• Good ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Adequate ability to create inspection Documentation and Reporting.
• Adequate familiarization with Oil and gas Industry inspection quality standards.
