Job Description

Principle Accountabilities:
1. Create and implement comprehensive Quality Assurance plans specific to shipbuilding or ship repair, ensuring adherence to international maritime standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, and ABS standards).
2. Establish inspection criteria for incoming materials, welding, coatings, and structural components to meet design specifications before and during production/repair.
3. Oversee and supervise routine QC inspections for materials (steel, paint, equipment) and processes (welding, assembly, coating, etc.) in both the shipbuilding and repair phases.
4. Ensure the effective implementation and execution of NDT techniques (such as ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing) to assess the integrity of materials and welds.
5. Monitor critical shipbuilding/repair processes like hull fabrication, welding, coating application, and machinery installation to ensure they meet quality requirements.
6. Oversee the final inspection and testing of ships before delivery, including sea trials and commissioning
procedures to ensure the vessel meets all operational standards and client specifications.
7. Lead root cause analysis on defects or quality failures that occur during ship construction or repair, including issues with structural integrity, welding, and equipment malfunction.
8. Identify opportunities for improving the overall quality of shipbuilding/repair processes and minimize waste, defects, or rework through continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean or Six Sigma).
9. Manage quality assurance of incoming materials and components from suppliers, ensuring they meet the required specifications (e.g., steel grades, electrical components).
10. Provide regular reports on QAQC performance, including non-conformances, audit findings, and quality-related risks. Report on the status of corrective actions and project quality metrics.
11. Direct and mentor QAQC inspectors and technicians, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to perform their tasks effectively.
12. Oversee the proper handling and disposal of waste materials (e.g., hazardous substances, scrap metal) and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.Min Experience:10 YearsSalary :AED 15000Temp/Perm::PermanentLocation :DubaiPosted Date:February 11, 2025
