Purchase and Logistics Officer undertakes full responsibility for all international purchase, shipping and logistics including intercompany transactions within the GCC. Responsible for source selection and procurement functions associated with the companys needs for materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality and delivery standards. The position is further responsible for the logistics of shipping finished product to distributors and customers.
Coordinates and collates all material required for production
Collates quotations from different suppliers for management review and approval
Making Purchase Order against the approved quotation
Ensuring all products are in stock, at the highest quality and at the most competitive price
Initiates purchase orders for ingredients, packaging and other manufacturing supplies. Maintains close coordination with production management to ensure materials arrive for timely production of finished product
Assures that product is shipped to customers in a timely and safe manner
Coordinate all co-packer purchase orders; assuring delivery of raw materials, packaging and labels with sufficient lead time for timely receipt of finished goods
Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and timely delivery competitiveness
Coordinates as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company and suppliers
Maintains supplier relationships, to check and supervise quality and/or delivery problems
Maintain an accurate Cost of Goods number for each finished goods SKU
Oversight of warehouse management
Identifying suppliers, cost analysis of required materials
Requirements
you have in-depth knowledge of purchasing and logistics processes and best practices
you are an experienced people manager
you are communicative and have a pronounced team spirit
you are an experienced Office user (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Cost accounting skills
Ability to understand financial statements
Understanding of e-business / e-procurement systems
Troubleshooting, problem solving
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
Talent in negotiations and networking
Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Strong leadership capabilities
BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
