:Our client, a leading government hospital, is currently looking for Pulmonary Function Technologist with experience handling Pediatric patients, to be based in Dubai. In this role, your responsibilities would include but not limited to:
Understands the scope, background respiratory physiology and ATS/ ERS guidelines required for pulmonary function testing.
Demonstrates the ability to perform a variety of basic and advanced pulmonary function tests
Coordinates with the multidisciplinary sleep team to ensure positive cases of sleep related breathing disorders are initiated on the required positive airway pressure therapy.
Supports the family with mask desensitization, mask fittings and pressure from PAP devices.
Follows up with patients accordingly to review and monitor the progress on PAP therapy.
Produces summarized progress reports from data downloads, which can be provided to the family and referring physician to see if any intervention is required.
Identifies self-learning needs and take initiative to meet those needs
Serves as a role model for all staff assisting in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship and preceptorship programs in accordance with evidence-based practice.
Acts as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching new staff or students in the development of competencies required
Interacts with children, visitors in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner
Interacts with members of the healthcare team in a manner that demonstrates respect, effective communication skills and promotes teamwork
Documents all relevant information correctly, appropriately and in a timely manner
Demonstrates advocacy for children, young adults and their families.
Encourages and involve children and their families in care decisions to make informed choices by providing them with information, support and direction to the relevant support services as appropriate.
Contributes to the achievement of clinical quality indicators, positive patient outcomes and patient and family satisfaction through extraordinary service.
To actively support strategies for Safeguarding Children and ensure participate in the development and implementation of safeguarding strategies and procedures
Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication
Actively promote safety for children, families, visitors and co-workers.
RequirementsTo be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:
Bachelors degree in a Respiratory related degree
Post Graduate Training qualification in Respiratory Health / Medicine or Therapy of at least one (1) year duration.
Post Graduate Qualification in specialty if applicable in country of origin.
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience handling Pediatric patients
Preferably someone with DHA license/eligibility
Life Support and Advanced Life support Training
