Job Summary:
A Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals in response to client requirements. This role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing project specifications, estimating costs, and ensuring that proposals are accurate, competitive, and meet customer expectations. The Proposal Engineer must have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proposal Development: Prepare detailed and accurate technical and commercial proposals based on client specifications and requirements. Ensure that proposals are aligned with the company's capabilities and business goals.
- Technical Evaluation: Analyze technical requirements, specifications, and drawings to understand project scope and requirements. Work closely with engineering teams to develop technical solutions and offer competitive pricing.
- Cost Estimation:Prepare cost estimates by calculating material, labor, and other costs. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes for specialized equipment or services.
- Coordination: Work with various departments including engineering, procurement, sales, and project management to gather necessary information for proposal preparation.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive proposal documents, including technical specifications, project schedules, cost breakdowns, and terms & conditions. Ensure all documentation is accurate, professional, and delivered on time.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify requirements, answer questions, and provide additional information as needed. Maintain a professional and positive relationship with clients throughout the proposal process.
- Bid Management: Track and manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and proposals are submitted on time. Follow up on proposals to understand the outcome and gather feedback.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and market conditions to help in the development of competitive proposals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in proposal engineering, cost estimation, or a similar role in oil and gas industry.
- Strong technical background with the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using proposal management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in specific oil & gas industries
- Familiarity with CRM systems and project management tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Certified Cost Engineer) are a plus.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: AED50.00 - AED100.00 per year
