The appointment is based in Dubai, UAE and would involve levels of world-wide travel, typically 40 to 50 days per year.Business Interruption (BI) analysis is a key growth vehicle for Marshs Global Energy Risk Engineering (GERE) team and the successful candidate will join a team which is a leader in insurance risk engineering.We will count on you to :execute two key work streams; 1.Business Interruption (BI) Assessment Our Business Interruption (BI) team provides valuable insights to underwriters and clients regarding the potential financial impact following a major insured event such as fire or explosion. Such BI analysis requires developing an understanding the operational and commercial impacts of an incident and interpreting those impacts in the context of the insurance policys BI coverage. The analysis is linked to the policy wording and insurance coverages that are in place. There are established technical methods, although further technical and product innovation is desired. In the course of conducting a BI assessment, the BI engineer meets with key operations and commercial personnel from the client to establish the impact of major loss scenarios, and quantified the BI loss using finical data obtained from the client. Scenarios considered may also include loss of supplier or customer and other issues depending on the policy in place. The output of the BI assessment is a report that is provided to the client and to insurers to inform their decision making for insurance placement.2.BI Engineering Business Development Marshs global Energy & Power practice has a large range of international clients and many insurance placements involve the Dubai Hub. The successful candidate will support the Dubai hub in maintain and expanding development process to support the long term growth of BI Engineering Services and diversification of work to support the newly established Energy Consultancy team as necessary.What you need to have :University degree in chemical, process or mechanical engineering.Substantial practical energy industry experience preferably in refining or petrochemicals operations i.e. with complex, integrated assets.Significant experience with scheduling, production optimisation or business planning and with the ability to evaluate a sites economic performance and strategy.Other beneficial skills and experience include:Setting and changing economic strategies using linear programming optimisation tools.Good experience of finished product blending.Capacity utilisation reporting and quantification of unplanned shutdowns / capacity restrictions.Excellent written and oral presentation skills.Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.A second language would be an advantage.About us :Marsh is the worlds leading insurance broker and risk adviser.
