The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards across various industries.Duties & Responsibilities * Support the Head of PMO and Project Director to develop a comprehensive project plan outlining the scope, schedule, budget, and resources required for the Project.
Coordinate with stakeholders to update as required project objectives and deliverables.
Monitor key milestones and deliverable deadlines.
Ensure that the right resources and expertise are assigned to the Project (identify any gap and performance). Perform annual appraisal and advise required changes to the Project structure.
Provide clear direction, motivation, and support to the project team.
Mentor and develop the career path of subordinates.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members.
Monitor consultant/contractor performance and address any issues promptly. This includes compliance with the Contracts, SOW, and Schedule.
Review and approve changes to the scope, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Mitigate scope changes and associated risks.
Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing any variances.
Monitor progress against the schedule and take corrective actions as needed.
Establish and enforce quality standards for the deliverables.
Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
Address any quality issues promptly.
Identify, assess, and prioritise project risks.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Regularly review and update the risk register.
Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, including senior management.
Manage the preparation and distribution of progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
Facilitate effective communication between project team members and stakeholders.
Ensure that all Engineering activities comply with relevant industry and Iraq regulations and standards.
Identify and work with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
Prioritise and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsible for the implementation of measures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Lead the preparation and implementation of actions to be implemented in order to recover any progress delays, improve quality, and resolve disputes.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Over 20 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale, complex projects.
Proven expertise in managing projects in industries such as Oil & Gas, Construction, Energy, or Infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in risk assessment, budgeting, and scheduling software.
