Job Overview
Lead and manage projects from initiation to completion, taking full responsibility for meeting contract requirements and internal targets.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the project client.
• Conduct a comprehensive contract review for new orders.
• Collaborate with the client to establish agreed formats for project documents (e.g., reports, specifications, datasheets) and drawings at the project's inception.
• Manage the change control process, ensuring any changes to initial project objectives and scope are clearly identified, documented, communicated, and agreed upon with the client in a timely manner.
• Review and approve all project documents and design deliverables, ensuring their timely issuance in accordance with the project schedule.
• Facilitate invoice preparation by providing relevant supporting documents (e.g., technical delivery transmittals, milestone certificates) to the Finance Department, and assist Finance in following up with the client until payment is secured.
• Develop project execution plans that align with the specific requirements outlined in the contract.
• Oversee multi-discipline engineering activities to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Take responsibility for the project's scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and procurement.
• Ensure projects are delivered within the agreed framework of risk management, sustainability, and environmental considerations, while maintaining a strong focus on time, cost, and quality.
• Supervise product testing, commissioning, and final handover to the client.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• PMP Certification (preferred) and familiarity with PMBOK principles.
• A minimum of 10 years of direct work experience in project management, including international project exposure.
• Strong understanding of basic engineering principles related to P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and equipment/component datasheets.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in the engineering and construction industry, gained through roles in EPC companies or with clients.
• Proactive self-starter with a hands-on approach and innovative thinking for developing project execution strategies.
• Proven ability to unify diverse teams and lead them towards high performance while achieving business goals.
• Solid understanding of local and international codes, such as the UAE Fire Code, NFPA, IP, etc.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
