The Applications Technical Manager leads the technical team responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining software applications. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their needs, designing solutions, managing projects, and ensuring that applications run smoothly and efficiently. The Applications Technical Manager is also responsible for staying up-to-date with technological advancements and implementing best practices to enhance application performance and security.


Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management:


+ Lead and manage a team of developers, engineers, and technical support staff.
+ Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
+ Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
+ Conduct performance evaluations and address any performance issues.
• Project Management:


+ Plan, execute, and oversee application development projects.
+ Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
+ Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
+ Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Technical Oversight:


+ Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software applications.
+ Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure.
+ Review and approve technical designs and architecture.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:


+ Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
+ Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
+ Ensure that applications meet business needs and are user-friendly.
• Quality Assurance:


+ Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices.
+ Ensure thorough testing of applications before deployment.
+ Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Budget and Resource Management:


+ Manage the budget for application development projects.
+ Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals.
+ Ensure cost-effective use of technology and resources.
• Continuous Improvement:


+ Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.
+ Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Vendor Management:


+ Evaluate and select third-party vendors and service providers.
+ Manage relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
+ Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors.



Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• Experience:
+ Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in application development or a related technical field.
+ At least 2-3 years of experience in a management or leadership role.
• Project Management Skills:
+ Strong project management skills with experience in Agile methodologies.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Soft Skills:
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
