Position Title: Project Engineer - Signages & Wayfindings

Department: Engineering/Project Management

Location: Dubai

Reports To: Project Manager/Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer in the signage industry is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing signage projects from conception to completion. This role involves ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards. The Project Engineer works closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver successful signage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements and specifications.

Work with design, production, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Technical Oversight:
Provide technical expertise in the design and engineering of signage systems.

Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

Project Execution:
Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.

Conduct site visits to assess project status and address any issues.

Oversee the installation of signage, ensuring accuracy and quality.

Quality Control:
Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.

Inspect completed work to ensure it meets client expectations and industry standards.

Client Interaction:
Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates and address concerns.

Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.

Budget and Cost Management:
Track project expenses and manage budgets effectively.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and installation.

Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and project team members.

Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the signage industry or a related field.

Skills:
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management software and CAD tools.

Solid understanding of signage materials, fabrication processes, and installation techniques.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.

Relevant industry certifications are advantageous.

Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular site visits.

Some travel may be required to meet clients or oversee projects.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform site inspections, which may involve climbing ladders or scaffolding.

Capable of lifting and moving materials as needed.
