Wood is recruiting for a Lead Piping Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit to lead and manage the piping engineering and design of the project work scopes. This role is onsite in Sharjah, UAE. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage the piping engineering and design of the project work scopes. Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects. Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers. Ensure quality and accuracy of EPC Contractor's and Vendor's Discipline design activities. Review and approval of EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices in compliance with the contractual review periods. Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops. Key Objectives Single-point responsibility for all piping deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client's policies and procedure. Ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet the asset operational need. Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to piping design and engineering. Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary. Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule. Liaise with the Client's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion. Promote safe behaviour at all times. Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline. Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up. Provide technical support to site in terms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing. Assist in the coordination of all activities related to piping deliverables. Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required. Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering/Project Manager. QUALIFICATIONS What makes you remarkable? Membership of a recognised professional institute preferred. 15 years' experience in Piping stress analysis with knowledge of Piping supports. 10 years' experience managing piping stress software Caesar II. Experience with stress analysis for GRE Pipes. Knowledge of WRC 107 / 297 Standard and Nozzle Pro software.
