Job Title : Project Engineer Cum Draftsman - Aluminum and Glass Role Overview :

The Project Engineer cum Draftsman for Aluminum and Glass is responsible for managing and executing projects related to aluminum and glass installations, which may include facades, windows, doors, curtain walls, glass structures, and other related products. The role blends engineering oversight, project management, and technical drawing expertise to ensure successful design, planning, and completion of the projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities : Project Management :

• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and safety standards.
• Coordinate between various stakeholders (designers, contractors, suppliers, and clients) to ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, delays, and issues in the project schedule.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

Drafting and Design :

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for aluminum and glass systems, including facade designs, curtain walls, windows, doors, and structural elements.
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to produce precise technical drawings and blueprints.
• Collaborate with the design team to refine drawings and make necessary adjustments based on client feedback or design modifications.
• Ensure that designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet engineering and architectural requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation and design specifications for materials, installation methods, and components.

Technical Support :

• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams during the installation of aluminum and glass systems.
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify that construction and installation align with approved designs and specifications.
• Troubleshoot any technical issues during the fabrication or installation process and suggest practical solutions.
• Ensure that proper testing and quality control measures are implemented on all aluminum and glass products.

Material Selection and Procurement :

• Assist in the selection of appropriate materials, such as types of aluminum alloys and glass specifications, ensuring they meet durability, aesthetic, and safety requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and confirm the availability of required products for the project.
• Review and analyze material cost estimates to help in project budgeting and procurement planning.

Collaboration and Communication :

• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and expectations, providing updates on project progress and timelines.
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients, stakeholders, or management detailing project status and technical information.

Key Skills & Qualifications :

• Educational Background :
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications or courses in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software is a plus.
• Experience :
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project engineering or drafting for aluminum and glass systems.
• Proven experience in managing architectural and construction projects, especially in curtain walls, facades, and glazing systems.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
• Solid understanding of building materials, structural systems, and architectural design principles.
• Knowledge of glass and aluminum manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Other Requirements :
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of project management tools and software.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for inspections and coordination.
