General Responsibilities:
Strategic and Planning
Manage the implementation of the divisional strategy in line with the business vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
Manage and coordinate all departmental functions, resources and strategies and ensure that these functions are executed efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage the work of staff under supervision, ensure that programmes are of appropriate quality, and the resources are used effectively and in compliance with policies and procedures.
Manage all external stakeholder-facing transactions in line with stakeholder strategy, address stakeholder needs, concerns and requests in a timely manner.
Manage continuous improvement by introducing innovation and excellence in business processes aligned to leading practices and excellence frameworks.
Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
Oversee and manage the implementation of Group and OpCo policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls covering all areas of function so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled, while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
Reporting
Ensure that all divisional reports are completed timely and comply with the business and OpCo's policies and standards.
Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about various initiatives' progress and to facilitate decision-making.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, engineering reports, engineering designs for substation and related equipment including, but not limited to, site design, foundation design, structure design, control building design. Pump halls, transformers, GIS buildings, fences, concrete walls, and general substation miscellaneous equipment.
Ensure that all project design and implementation comply with applicable local and federal regulations, including environmental laws and safety standards.
Familiarity with related international standards and codes of practice.
Evaluate potential sites for substations, transmission lines, and UG cable, considering factors like environmental impact, land use, and accessibility.
Provide engineering inputs to new substation and switching station facilities, develop improvements to existing substation and switching station facilities.
Perform detailed engineering studies and reports and assist in project management by reviewing contract specifications and estimating labor, materials and construction costs of projects.
Design system facilities for projects in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. Work closely with project execution teams and vendors to ensure product specification compliance.
Ensure full application of BIM processes which involves creating a digital representation of the project specific Civil Infrastructure including below and above ground facilities and ensure integration with the rest of the systems by facilitating collaborative design, reducing errors, and optimizing construction processes.
Provide technical support to others within and outside the Engineering Department. Perform field investigations, inspections, or monitoring of substations and switching stations.
Provide cost recommendations to the proposal team based on the bid review analysis.
Work closely with construction inspectors and construction personnel throughout construction duration to ensure completion of designed facilities.
Apply a diversified knowledge of Civil engineering principles and practices as applied to substation engineering, design, and construction in the electric utility industry.
Ensure design to current specifications and codes and standards for structural and civil design requirements.
Collaborate with other disciplines and the project engineering team.
Realize the different stages of the project in the timeframes and budgets. Provide guidance for project schedules and allotted hours for project tasks.
On-site assessment and evaluation of existing equipment, steel structures, and foundations in so-called "brownfield" substation projects.
Identifying and clarifying technical ambiguities and conflicts in the documents.
Identifying potential or probable risks during construction and installation.
Developing mitigation strategies for identified risks.
Analyze sub-contractor bid responses for inconsistencies, oversights and mistakes.
Lead sub-contractor bid reviews to resolves bid response inconsistencies, oversights and mistakes.

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
