Project Engineer will be responsible for managing, planning, and overseeing various infrastructure and construction projects, including roads, bridges, earthwork, pipelines, and fencing. This role involves ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Engineer will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, provide technical expertise, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination
Review project specifications, technical drawings, and contract requirements.
Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to align project goals and approvals.
2. Technical Supervision
Oversee technical aspects of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, earthworks, pipelines, and fencing.
Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to design specifications.
Ensure proper execution of construction techniques and use of materials.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance
Implement and enforce quality control processes for construction works.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes.
Perform regular audits and resolve technical issues promptly.
4. Resource Management
Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage to ensure efficient resource allocation.
Recommend procurement of specialized equipment or materials as necessary.
Track inventory and manage vendor and supplier relationships.
5. Reporting and Documentation
Prepare progress reports, including status updates, cost analysis, and forecasts.
Maintain project documentation, such as permits, drawings, and as-built records.
Support claims management by providing relevant technical and cost data.
6. Risk Management
Identify potential risks, delays, or technical challenges and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure timely resolution of on-site conflicts or design discrepancies.
7. Leadership and Training
Guide and mentor junior engineers, technicians, and on-site teams.
Conduct training sessions on safety procedures, quality standards, and new technologies.
Promote collaboration and maintain positive working relationships among teams.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience: 3-8 years in infrastructure construction, specializing in roads, bridges, earthworks, or similar projects.
Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera, and familiarity with surveying equipment.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Certifications: PMP, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
