Overview:
The Project Control Manager is responsible for the planning, scheduling, cost control, and overall project control activities to ensure successful project execution. This role involves overseeing project performance, identifying risks, and implementing corrective measures to maintain project timelines and budgets. The Project Control Manager will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to provide accurate and timely project reporting and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project control plans, including cost control, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
Monitor and control project performance, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Oversee the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, identifying critical path activities, milestones, and potential delays.
Implement cost control measures, analyzing variances and providing forecasts to ensure the project remains within the approved budget.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project teams, stakeholders, and clients, providing regular updates on project status.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address potential project risks and issues.
Lead the preparation of progress reports, including Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, cost analysis, and schedule performance.
Collaborate with procurement, finance, and engineering teams to ensure accurate data integration and reporting.
Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements related to project controls and reporting.
Support the project team during audits and reviews, providing documentation and clarification as needed. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
Proficient in project control software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office applications.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Cost Control (e.g., AACE CCP) is preferred. Years of Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in project controls, including at least 5 years in a managerial role within the construction, oil & gas, or EPC industry. Technical Knowledge:
Project Control Systems: In-depth knowledge of project control methodologies, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for large-scale projects.
