  • Bachelor\'s Degree in any engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in similar positions in the energy sector, and preferably with relevant exposure to renewable energies such as solar PV, OHTL, HV Substations or wind.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Experience in the MENA region working in an EPC Company will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of international standards, good industry practice and environmental legislation in relation to construction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and demanding clients.
  • Capacity to integrate a team and collaborate with all members with a constructive approach.
  • Proficiency in Primavera and Microsoft Project.
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Arabic is a must added value.
ActivitiesFor the project(s) he/she will be assigned to, working closely with the project development and construction teams and under the coordination of the PEM, the Project Control Manager:During project development phase:
  • Reviews EPC Contracts under preparation to ensure necessary requirements in terms of reporting, progress monitoring, preparation of planning.
  • Reviews and challenges the plannings submitted by the EPC bidders during the tendering processes and leads necessary clarifications to confirm or, otherwise, to optimize such plannings.
  • Supports the project development team in the preparation of the internal weekly and monthly reports and any other material (ad-hoc reports, presentations) to be submitted to the different stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, incorporating all project activities and milestones.
  • Identify and communicate critical path activities to the project team.
  • Optimize workflows across different project sections (technical, legal, permitting/ESIA, finance).
  • Support the review of EPC contract schedules during tendering processes.
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports.
During project execution phase:
  • Ensures the implementation of all requirements in compliance with Owner\'s procedures and guidelines.
  • Is fully aware of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Grid Transmission Interconnection Contract (GTIC), EPC Contract, Owner\'s Engineer Service Agreement, Independent consultant Contract and various Project Agreements.
  • Ensures the EPC Contractor\'s compliance with all the Progress and Planning and Cost Control procedures of the EPC Contract.
  • Ensures Owner\'s Engineer design review progress is also consistent with the planning.
  • Tracks the critical path of the project, ensuring that EPC Contractor is properly reporting it.
  • Anticipates and allocates plans to mitigate the delays ahead of time.
  • Establishes together with PEM and finance the procedure for contractors\' payment application verification and invoice approval.
  • Assists with all projects, progress and/or discipline technical meetings with the EPC Contractor, the Owner\'s Engineer and the off taker.
  • Monitors and checks the EPC Contractors\' and the Owner\'s Engineer work across each discipline to ensure the timely delivery of the works.
  • Works with the EPC Contractor and the Owner\'s Engineer to define and implement the necessary project KPIs and reporting tools.
  • Leads the review of the progress reports (daily, weekly and monthly) prepared by the EPC Contractor and the Owner\'s Engineer.
  • Leads the preparation of the internal weekly and monthly reports and any other material (ad-hoc reports, presentations) to be submitted to the different stakeholders and the Board of Directors,
  • Provides necessary inputs for the approval of the EPC Contractor and Owner\'s Engineer invoices.
  • Implement and maintain project scheduling requirements in compliance with owner\'s procedures and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Baseline schedule.
  • Monitor and update project schedules, tracking actual progress against planned timelines.
  • Identify schedule variances and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing recovery plans for delayed activities.
  • Prepare and maintain schedule related KPIs and reporting tools.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and provide schedule-related insights.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Generate project cost analysis reports and deliver weekly and monthly status reports to highlight potential issues and provide solutions.
  • Utilize scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project) to create and maintain project schedules and reporting dashboards.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and best practices documentation.
General Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with discipline managers to track progress and optimize schedules.
  • Ensure to convey required project data and information to project teams.
  • Educate employees in methods to ensure project continuity and completeness.
  • Evaluate and analyse with the team risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Lead development of baseline schedule and support Project Manager (PM) in Integrated Baseline Review (IBR).
  • Gather actual data, update project schedule, and develop reliable schedule forecasts with support from the project team
Context & Environment
  • Accountable for effectively monitoring the progress of the project during the execution.
  • Ensures coordination with all areas to monitor the progress of all activities.
  • Based in Dubai, with regular trips to the construction site in Basra - Iraq, and site-assignments of different durations will be necessary (once per month and up to two or three per month when needed).
