The Project Cargo Country Manager is responsible for the support, development, implementation and growth of the Product within the geographic area of responsibility. Coordination with local operation departments and Central Pricing & Support Team in HAM for Special Cargo Movements (SCM) & Project Tenders.
Identify and engage new business targets in the Project Forwarding industry
Initiate and sustain service provider relationships
Explore improvement opportunities regarding Project Cargo to Product Management
Engage GEO leadership for continued support
Report monthly progress to Country Managers on quote status, revenue accrued, and business development
Counsel and mentor staff so professional and branch development occur in parallel
Grow the PC business within the region
Develop the regional infrastructure including but not limited to: port, terminal, and equipment accessibility
Source, initiate, and attend regular meetings with local vendors
Assist in creating a Project Cargo Tariff for repetitive services like surveys, port handling,
carnage, customs etc.
Maintain ownership of all Project enquiries
Execute and coordinate RFQs with customers and Service Providers
Manage all documentation
Support overseas requests in a timely manner
Attend workshops, conferences, and group meetings as required
Travel domestically and internationally as required
Train staff on Project Cargo best practices learned throughout industry experience and adapt to the latest trends in safe cargo handling and international trade
Undergo a minimum of 52 hours of self-development training per year
Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures
Ensure that all shipments are being properly tracked in our systems through the use of the PRJ Service Type
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of Project related experience
7+ years of handling over-dimensional loads via land, barge, rail, air, and ocean modes of transport or storage
Established network of Project industry contacts
Diplomacy and commercial awareness
Geographic and political understanding of the region
Governmental regulations regarding project movement
Operational Process Standards and procedures within the Project industry
Knowledge of permits, import/export regulations, applications, and procedures including surveys
