Wood is currently inviting applications for a Project Buyer with experience in the oil and gas industry for our team in Dubai.
Job Objective
The Project buyer will report to the post award Package Responsible Buyer and will be an integral part of Project Procurement team, working collaboratively with the rest of the Supply Chain, Technical, Legal and Operation team.
Key Accountabilites and Responsiblities
Responsible for contract follow-up and management of post PO (Purchase Orders) activities
for assigned Purchase Orders, including issuing revised POs (Purchase Orders) * Be the escalation point in the event of disputes between Altera Expediting team and Vendor
Ensure up to date data quality in procurement system Star FSM
Coordinate and cooperate with internal project disciplines in matters concerning changes and
deviations to your assigned Pos * Report Vendor Deviations in FSM and propose and close corrective actions in cooperation
with project team and vendor * Responsible for commercial handling, negotiations, and follow-up of vendors variation order
requests and agreed variation orders * Ensure timely approval of invoices for assigned POs and verify that commercial terms are
according to the PO and including any requirements for supporting invoice documentation * Make sure internal document registers are structured and updated with accurate and relevant
documentation for easy access to project members * Cooperate with project Expediting team to ensure vendor performance according to PO
requirements * Proactively cooperate and support PRB (Purchase Responsible Buyer) team and suggest
improvements to increase efficiency of work * Build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be an ambassador for
Altera in the marketplace * Ensure that all activities are carried out in conformance with established processes and
procedures within Altera and the project * Maximize opportunities for cost-effective purchasing activities by synergy potentials across
the project. Be hands-on the supplier market to ensure the best possible price, delivery, quality, and level of service are achieved * Review deliverables, handle disputes, follow up of invoices and credits not received, and
ensure closure of PO\xe2\x80\x99s when delivery and financial accounts are completed at project closure
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications, Knowledge
Bachelors degree or Equivalent education in business related discipline, ideally supply
chain or procurement, working towards or CIPS qualified * Minimum 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 SC experience in a Category focused role demonstrating results
Category management
Good insight and knowledge of international offshore/marine supplier market
Good understanding of business economics and accounting
Knowledge of Contracts & Procurement in the offshore/marine industry
Good negotiation skills
Good communications skills, both written and verbally
Strong English skills, written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills applied to a multi-disciplined project team
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and
