OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Project Architect will take on leadership, manage stakeholder and project role under the supervision of senior staff.
Key Objectives
To design and / or deliver packages or small projects independently.
To use strong design / technical knowledge for delivery of projects.
To manage stakeholders under supervision of senior staff.
To possess a strong understanding of international standards and local codes.
Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role.
1. DESIGN
Has an interest in design trends and up to date design knowledge.
Write the design brief with assistance from senior staff.
Ensure design reviews are carried out at the end of every stage.
Guide production, problem solving and design input on the projects.
Use software to produce progressive and innovative designs.
Work closely with the principal in charge of the ideation and evolution of projects design and assist in resolving complex design issues.
Inform the team of progress, problems and submit work for review.
Share Clear graphic and verbal communication with the client, produce a high standard of design stage reporting as required and on time.
Manage the day to day running of projects including client liaison.
Undertake the production of the project in accordance with that brief.
Produce technical drawings and documentation.
Liaise and coordinate with external consultants, regarding cross checking of drawings and Revit models.
To have hands on and work across the documentation stages when required.
Assist with the management of junior architects.
Carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the role.
1. TECHNICAL AND QA/QC
Produce drawings in accordance with company guidelines and within project deadlines under supervision.
Understand building construction to at least a basic level.
Perform personal QA/QC check of own work and drawings before presenting for review.
Conduct research on suppliers and building materials as required.
Fill in and submit timesheets in a timely manner and observe attendance procedures.
Risk management - is aware of responsibilities as an architect, inform the project leaders of issues and be aware of and manages the risks identified by the project risk register.
Keeping accurate records of meeting actions and follow up in a timely manner alerting others were required.
Person Profile
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor's degree in architecture - master's optional.
Excellent design skills
Solid software skills - Revit, AutoCAD , 3D design, Sketchup, InDesign, Microsoft Office highly regarded.
Hand sketching skills desirable
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Member of UAE Society Engineers. Registration with home country professional body highly regarded.
Project Management training desirable
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in an office environment working as part of a team required.
Project stages - experience in design and/or delivery of packages of small projects independently
Exposure and experience in all stages preferred, design and/or delivery of packages/parts of small projects with limited supervision.
Understanding of codes and standards and their application highly regarded
Experience in stakeholder management - sub-consultants (required), client (desirable)
Industry Experience - in an innovative practice locally or internationally or reputable local practice highly regarded.
6-8years' experience (or equivalent) working in the Architecture field
