:Programme Supervisor Performance Design: Set and CostumeJob PurposeThe Programme Supervisor Performance Design (Set and Costume) position (equivalent tois a full-time rolefocused on teaching Set and Costume Design at the postgraduate level. The successfulcandidate will be expected to supervise postgraduate students in the Master of Fine Arts(MFA) programme (Theatre and Live Performance Creation: Set and Costume Design) andparticipate as a member of thesis supervisory committees.The faculty member will mentor postgraduate students as necessary and teach a mix ofskills in the postgraduate Set and Costume Design concentration classes (e.g., designfoundation, history, and design genres/forms). Theywill work collaboratively alongside the other departments within the Acting, Musicalan Assistant Professor) at the companySet and Costume Design on company's productions (to be confirmed) and supervise MFA studentdesigners working during company's productions.Theatre, Dance and Production Arts programmes and the wider faculty at the company. TheProgramme Supervisor Performance Design (Set and Costume) reports directly to theProgramme Leader Postgraduate Studies and may be responsible for providing Set andCostume Design to all programmes, in coordination with the Programme LeaderPostgraduate Studies.Research and Scholarly Activities policy and Faculty Policies. Prioritising safe practice will be fundamentalalongside developing and inspiring innovative teaching that connects withmultidisciplinary training that remains dynamic and relevant to the industry.\xef\x82\xa7 Organise and facilitate the faculty pertaining to all activities within the Set andCostume Design concentration classes.\xef\x82\xa7 Collaborate with the postgraduate faculty to administer course assessments todeliver structured feedback that supports and enhances learning and developmentfor Set and Costume courses.\xef\x82\xa7 Assist the Programme Leader Postgraduate Studies with timetabling and schedulingfor Set and Costume Design courses.\xef\x82\xa7 Assist the Programme Leader Postgraduate Studies in the interview and selectionprocess for hiring additional Designers for productions (as required).\xef\x82\xa7 Assist the Programme Leader Postgraduate Studies in outreach and studentrecruitment efforts to ensure sustained high levels of enrolment.\xef\x82\xa7 The Programme Supervisor Performance Design (Set and Costume) may take onadditional teaching responsibilities related to the postgraduate programme,including managing curriculum documentation, course files, and courseadministration to adhere to the institution's quality assurance standards.The successful candidate will also demonstrate the potential to meet company's expectationsfor Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity, Teaching, and Service as defined in companysKnowledge and ExperienceEssential:\xef\x82\xa7 Terminal Degree (MFA or PhD) or demonstrate and verify equivalent industry orprofessional experience, or additional qualifications in professional performingarts education.\xef\x82\xa7 Significant professional theatre experience as a Set and Costume Designer (8 - 10years minimum).\xef\x82\xa7 Must be trained in specialist knowledge of Set and Costume Design, (includingcurrent design software suites).\xef\x82\xa7 Previous experience with providing feedback.\xef\x82\xa7 Knowledge and insight into student performance evaluation.\xef\x82\xa7 Experience with research and scholarly activity, including practice as research.\xef\x82\xa7 Capable of working autonomously and as an integral part of a diverse,multinational team, while exhibiting the emotional intelligence necessary for suchenvironments.\xef\x82\xa7 Ability to work on a flexible schedule, which may include evening and weekendwork.\xef\x82\xa7 Excellent organisational, verbal, and written communication skills.\xef\x82\xa7 Ability to work with Office365 Suite (especially Excel).\xef\x82\xa7 Flexible approach to curriculum development and andragogy to suit theAcademys dynamic needs, and cultural considerations, and to enhancecollaborative education delivery.\xef\x82\xa7 Must be willing to relocate to the UAE.Desirable:\xef\x82\xa7 Direct industry experience; connections within the theatre and live performanceindustry for outreach and collaborative purposes.\xef\x82\xa7 Documented success teaching Performance Design: Set and Costume (or similarcourse content), and related courses at a post-secondary institution and/ormentoring design students and emerging designers.\xef\x82\xa7 Documented success in Set and Costume Design (e.g., industry awards).
