Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to handle Production of Armored protection Vehicles and oversee the manufacturing operations of our production facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production activities, ensuring the efficient use of resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of Processing and monitoring from the steel fabrication stage to final assembling of Commercial, APC's and MRAP vehicle production processes.
Full job description & Key Responsibilities:
• •Production Planning and Management: • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders, production targets, and delivery deadlines. Monitor and manage the production process to ensure that products are manufactured on time and within quality standards. Allocate resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• •Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement: • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality through process optimization and vehicle manufacturing techniques. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
• •Quality Control: • Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards by closely monitoring production processes and collaborating with the Quality Control team. Implement and enforce quality control procedures, addressing any deviations promptly to prevent defects and rework. Work with the R&D and Quality Assurance teams to improve product quality and consistency.
• •Team Leadership and Development: • Lead, coach, and mentor the production team, including supervisors, machine operators, and production staff. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement and safety.
• •Inventory and Supply Chain Management: • Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure a steady supply of raw materials and components needed for production. Monitor inventory levels to minimize excess stock and reduce the risk of shortages or production delays. Work closely with Stores to resolve any issues related to the quality or availability of materials.
• •Health and Safety: • Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure that all production activities comply with safety standards and best practices. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards on site. Investigate and report on any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• •Budgeting and Cost Control: • Manage the production budget, controlling costs related to labor, materials, and overhead. Track and report on production costs, identifying areas where savings can be achieved without compromising quality or safety. Participate in the development of the annual production budget and long-term strategic planning.
• •Client and Stakeholder Reporting and Communication: • Maintain effective communication with customers and other stakeholders to provide updates on production work in progress and address any concerns. Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on production status, challenges, and achievements. Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including output, efficiency, quality, and safety metrics. Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, R&D, and Logistics, to ensure alignment of production with business goals.
• •Problem-Solving: • Identify and resolve production-related issues, including delays, conflicts, and quality concerns. Develop and implement solutions to address challenges and improve production efficiency.
• •Working Conditions: • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and raw materials. May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a production management role, in the armored vehicles manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of Production of Armored Protection Vehicles from the steel fabrication stage to final assembling of Commercial, APC's and MRAP vehicle.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse production team.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP or production management software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
