We are seeking a highly experienced senior level Production Manager for our Paper Bags Manufacturing industry in Ras Al Khaimah. Role Objective: To oversee the production process and coordinates all activities to ensure enough resources on hand. To plan workers schedules, estimate costs and prepare budgets to ensure workflow meets required deadlines. Maintain the safety of people, condition of equipment and site to highest standards with ISO & BRP compliant. To ensure an efficient and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
Monitor production to resolve issues.
Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
Determine necessary resources value (workforce, raw materials etc.)
Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
Ensure output meets quality standards.
Enforce health and safety precautions.
Report to senior management.
Ensure a safe work environment is maintained for all staff.
Ensure the plan received from production planner is produced as per quality expectation of customer and management.
Maximise utility of machinery efficiency as per the rated speeds.
Develop Standard Operating Conditions related to product types, sizes and grammages and ensure the same is uniform across operations. OEE monitoring to be implemented and reported.
Achieve and Maintain scrap level <5% across all production units.
Maintain accurate accounting of WIP at all stages and ensure reconciliation with WH is done weekly and reported to senior management.
Keep a check on quality of all process consumables. Liaise with quality team if any matters to be raised with suppliers. Also ensure there is no undue wastage of any consumables (paper, ink, glue etc.)
Ensure all daily production reports and trackers are submitted to management and planner timely and accurately.
Maintaining good relationship in the plant team & safety of employees & assets of the organization.
Encouraging employees and supporting them to develop their skills & achieve targets.
Maintain housekeeping of the department and conditions of machine in line with ISO & BRC requirements and management expectations.
Develop SOPs of all processes within your sections and ensure the same covers not only process but safety, quality and environmental aspects. Conduct trainings in line with SOPs for all related staff and plan refresher training periodically. Skill Matrix for staff to be maintained and reviewed every quarter of the year.
Ensure all process check sheets are developed considering the SMART principle and implementation of the same is diligent.
Execute any other ad hoc tasks assigned by senior management.
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as production General Manager / Director
Deep knowledge of production management
Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
Outstanding communication ability
Excellent organizational and leaderships skills
Attention to detail.
Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
