We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to manage our factory and production team. The successful candidate will ensure the quality of steel fabrication production, control production processes and facilities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Familiarity with the production of diesel tanks, generator canopies, and acoustic enclosures is essential. Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to manage our factory and production team. The successful candidate will ensure the quality of steel fabrication production, control production processes and facilities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Familiarity with the production of diesel tanks, generator canopies, and acoustic enclosures is essential. Responsibilities:
- Manage the factory and production team.
- Maintain the quality of steel fabrication production.
- Control production processes and facilities.
- Lead continuous improvement, problem-solving, and process improvement activities.
- Communicate with clients throughout the design process to ensure their needs are met.
- Study client/consultant specifications, understand final requirements, and clarify any queries.
- Provide technical support to engineers during the design process.
- Develop plans for building prototypes to test new designs before mass production.
- Understand design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.
- Prepare production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and BOQ (Bill of Quantities) as per project requirements for procurement.
- Prepare electrical wiring drawings for customer submission and manufacturing.
- Document control and maintain records like product catalogs and datasheets for customer approval.
- Prepare cable schedules and termination details for electrical connections in panels and instruments per project specifications.
- Prepare Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) Manual documents for customers.
- Incorporate client comments and punch points on drawings and in the field during job execution.
- Make cable schedules considering factors like equipment, cable size, type, gland type and size, OD of cables, number of cores, function, and purpose of the cables.
- Prepare cable schedules to design Multi-Cable Transits (MCT) for industries like oil and gas, petrochemicals, and marine applications.
- Maintain test certificates and submit final documents for in-house and brought-out items.
- Coordinate with the Quality Engineer for client inspections and dispatch clearance.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a production engineering role, preferably in steel fabrication.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Familiarity with the production of diesel tanks, generator canopies, and acoustic enclosures.
