We are seeking an experienced and visionary Product Strategist to drive the development and execution of long-term product strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market trends, customer behaviour, and business goals, with the ability to develop actionable plans that ensure the successful growth and positioning of our product portfolio. As a Product Strategist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product management, and development, to define the direction of products and drive innovation while aligning with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Product Planning:
Develop and articulate long-term product strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and vision.
Conduct in-depth market research, customer analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities for new products, enhancements, and market differentiation.
Define the product portfolio roadmap, including key priorities, timelines, and resource allocation.
Market & Consumer Insights:
Gather and analyze customer insights through surveys, user testing, and direct feedback to understand market needs and identify areas for growth.
Identify market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape shifts to inform product strategy and future direction.
Develop personas and customer journey maps to ensure products are tailored to target audiences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product management, design, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment of product strategies across all departments.
Collaborate with product managers to refine product concepts, prioritize features, and set clear goals for product development.
Partner with marketing teams to create go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and messaging that resonate with target customers.
Business & Financial Impact:
Drive product strategies that maximize business growth, profitability, and market share.
Analyze product performance metrics (e.g., sales, adoption, and retention) to measure success and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Develop business cases, financial forecasts, and ROI models to support product strategy decisions.
Product Lifecycle Management:
Ensure that product strategies address all stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch optimization.
Identify gaps or opportunities in the current product offerings and propose new product initiatives or enhancements.
Lead initiatives that improve product-market fit, customer satisfaction, and user engagement.
Innovation & Vision:
Foster a culture of innovation by staying ahead of industry trends and technology advancements.
Propose and develop forward-looking product ideas that anticipate customer needs and capitalize on market opportunities.
Promote creative thinking and challenge existing processes to find better solutions for the product portfolio.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of product strategies, performance metrics, and key milestones.
Continuously evaluate the impact of product strategies through analytics, market feedback, and performance KPIs.
Adjust product strategies based on data, market dynamics, and customer feedback to ensure ongoing success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
5+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving successful product initiatives.
Strong understanding of market research, customer insights, competitive analysis, and industry trends.
Experience in developing and executing product strategies that align with business objectives and financial goals.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, develop insights, and make strategic recommendations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
Familiarity with product development processes and agile methodologies.
Experience with product lifecycle management and using data-driven decision-making tools (e.g., analytics platforms, CRM systems, and BI tools).
Preferred:
Experience in [specific industry, e.g., technology, consumer goods, healthcare, etc.].
Knowledge of design thinking or innovation frameworks.
Experience in managing product roadmaps, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.
