Summary: We are looking for a driven, passionate superstar to join Huda beauty as our Product Development Technologist - cross categories. Reporting to the Director of Product development and working in tandem with the Product developers & Huda Kattan . This role within the pivotal Product Development department will be focused on the supporting the launch of all new products from a technical standpoint & the reformulation of selected formulas in our current portfolio.


Product briefing, claim briefing, product testing & project management will play a big part of the day-to day duties, as well as general team support and admin.


The ideal candidate will be passionate about the world of beauty and have a strong knowledge for ingredients & a good feel for textures.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Track new ingredients, claims, stay up to date of the competitive environment and cosmetic regulations to support new product ideas.
• Understand key trends, ingredients, and fuel Product developers in translating them into strong beauty concepts.
• Work closely with Regulator and Marketing teams to propose and establish claims to be tested.
• Support in the creation of strong & detailed product briefs with ingredients and directions to be sent to suppliers/lab partners.
• Analyze new technologies and textures sent by suppliers/lab partners to create formulas that compliment and strengthen existing portfolio.
• Conduct in-house, internal evaluation of submissions for texture preferences and product performance based on ingredient technology.
• Approval of lab standards with PD lead & Quality managers.
• Partner closely with Regulatory, Quality & NPD teams to align on reformulation.
• Own product reformulations by communicating texture, shade direction & changes to suppliers through daily follow up emails or calls - Re-direct submissions until desired attributes and performance is achieved.
• Build strong suppliers/lab partners relationships.
• Lead CSR activation in partnership with Regulatory team, Directors of Packaging & Product development.

• Passion for and knowledge of the beauty industry
• Skills using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Chemistry/science graduate
• 3 to 5 years' experience within the beauty industry - lab experience required
• Skincare development experience would be an extra benefit but is not a must.
