Job Summary
As a Diamond Associate-PCE, you will undergo a comprehensive 12- 15-month training program that prepares individuals for the role of Product Center Engineer (PCE). The program will provide the fundamentals as well as in-depth knowledge to help develop strong functional and technical expertise engineers.
As an PCE, you will play a crucial role in the engineering team, responsible for delivering world class innovative drill bit design solutions to meet customer needs. This position demands an in-depth understanding of the drilling process, including drilling optimization, drill bit design, geology, and critical thinking. You will also be required to understand the product lifecycle and manufacturing processes involved when developing our products.
This role requires a strong desire to embrace new challenges and a drive to continuously enhance technical and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• All tasks are carried out in accordance with Engineering group policies and quality procedures under the leadership of the Engineering Manager.
• Contribute to sales and marketing efforts to ensure products offered are in line with engineering group and company strategies.
• Support design projects as allocated by the Engineering Manager with minimal supervision.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and ensure timely delivery of all necessary design tasks and within budget.
• Prepare, check and approve associated engineering documents (such as drawings, technical illustrations, manuals, reports and calculations) and ensure they are completed within the required timescales.
• Develop and lead test programs and factory acceptance tests to validate designs.
• Identify solutions to design problems in assigned projects.
• Engineering Change procedures are implemented thoroughly, ensuring minimum disruption to the business at all times.
• Ensure all assigned deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and established contract requirements.
• Chair client meetings and monitor individual's performance to ensure customer care is at the foremost position.
• Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs.
• Travel as and when required in order to support the business.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties when requested by a line manager.
• Utilise standard engineering calculations related to specific design or analytical projects under direction of senior engineer.
• Complete assignments received from supervisor using established design tools and procedures.
• See project through to completion with assistance of technical personnel.
• Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner.
• Interact with personnel in other departments and disciplines.
• Participate in action plans for new projects defined by supervisor.
• Consistently produce quality work and recommend areas where quality can be improved.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential
• HND Engineering or equivalent
• Working knowledge of leading design projects within multi-disciplinary teams
• Working knowledge within a manufacturing environment and within the Energy Industry, specifically within drill bits
• Relevant experience within Oil and Gas
• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Product Line Specific Orientation - Can describe specific tool applications and how the internals of the tool function.
• Knowledge Management - Able to navigate in the portal and perform simple searches.
• IP Series Training - Understand what intellectual property is.
• CAD - Create/manipulate simple models/parts/assemblies.
• FEA - Run simple analyses.
• CFD - Run simple analyses.
• PLM - Able to create parts using the right process workflows, track workflows progress, perform simple searches.
• EMS - Able to make use of creating favourite list, providing updates, uploading documents
Desirable
• B.S. in Engineering/Scientific discipline or equivalent.
