Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the acquisition and management of high-quality flowers. The successful candidate will ensure the timely procurement of flowers in the right quantity, in accordance with product specifications, and at competitive prices. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies to minimize wastage, manage costs effectively, and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demand. Flower Procurement Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Negotiation: Secure the best available prices and terms to ensure maximum cost reductions and profitability.
  • Invoicing: Manage the documentation, review, and approval of all invoices; coordinate with the Finance team.
  • Product Development Support: Assist in the sampling and pricing of new collections.
  • Supplier Sourcing: Identify and establish relationships with new flower suppliers.
  • Inventory Coordination: Work with the inventory team to monitor inventory levels and follow up with suppliers on service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Planning and Sourcing: Allocate approximately 35% of time to planning and sourcing for overall procurement and inventory needs, using historical sales data and forecasts.
  • Market Monitoring: Track market trends and supplier performance to make informed procurement decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Product Coordination: Collaborate with the product team for the approval of new items.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Internal: Work with Product and Finance departments to balance cash flow with operational needs.
  • External: Manage partnerships with flower suppliers.
Reporting Responsibilities:
  • Monthly Reports: Prepare monthly wastage and cost reduction reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) in collaboration with Finance.
  • Costing Process: Oversee the costing process for each collection and item, including corporate orders.
  • Escalation Management: Handle escalations related to supplier challenges, payments, and inventory issues.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Team Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Training: Train team members on flower maintenance and care.
  • Supervision and Development: Supervise and develop the flower procurement team.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including the product department. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, share knowledge and expertise, and support team members to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Horticulture, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in procurement of flowers
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of market trends and supplier networks in the floral industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver\'s License is required.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From AED6,000.00 per month Experience:
