Job Description

Responsibilities:Sourcing and Vendor Management:
  • Identify potential suppliers and vendors for shipyard materials, equipment, and services.
  • Develop and maintain a database of approved suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Evaluate and assess suppliers\' capabilities, performance, and financial stability to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
Procurement Strategy:
  • Collaborate with the shipyard management and project teams to define procurement needs and strategies for various projects.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans, considering lead times, budgets, and project timelines.
Bid Evaluation and Negotiation:
  • Analyze bids and proposals from suppliers, assessing them based on quality, cost, delivery time, and other relevant factors.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the shipyard.
Contract Management:
  • Draft, review, and execute procurement contracts, ensuring they comply with legal requirements and protect the shipyard\'s interests.
  • Monitor and manage contract performance, addressing any issues that may arise during the contract period.
Inventory Control and Cost Management:
  • Optimize inventory levels to maintain an adequate supply of materials and equipment while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to improve the shipyard\'s overall procurement efficiency.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in all procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor performance.
Relationship Management:
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to promote collaboration and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and professionally.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the shipyard industry.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive and result-oriented approach to work.
