Procurement Officer - Construction industry experience
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Procurement Officer with a strong background in construction and a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement. The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree and possess exceptional knowledge of procurement within the construction and contracting sectors and possess excellent negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
• Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with project needs and company goals.
• Source, negotiate, and procure construction materials, equipment, and services in compliance with project specifications and budgets.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement to avoid shortages or delays.
• Ensure all purchased materials and services meet the required quality standards and technical specifications.
Vendor Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations to ensure adherence to agreements and expectations.
• Resolve any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and professionally.
Contract Management:
• Prepare and review purchase orders, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, to secure the best possible value for the company.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to align procurement activities with project budgets and timelines.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering practices where feasible.
• Track procurement expenses and generate regular reports on spending and savings achieved.
Compliance & Documentation:
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and vendor correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws.
• Stay updated on market trends, new products, and potential suppliers in the construction industry.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes for large-scale projects.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and market pricing.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with procurement software.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Understanding of contracts, legal terms, and regulatory compliance in procurement.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
