: Procurement Officer (Automotive Industry)

Position: Procurement Officer

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain

Reports To: Procurement Manager / Head of Supply Chain

Objective: The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationship processes to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of automotive parts, components, and services. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality standards and operational efficiency of the supply chain within the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and procure automotive parts, materials, and services required for production and operations. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure optimal cost and quality. Evaluate and select reliable suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong business relationships. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry standards. Collaborate with internal departments, including production and quality control, to determine procurement needs. Track inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock. Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to process improvements. Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate records. Stay updated on market trends, supplier developments, and emerging technologies within the automotive sector.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within the automotive industry. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess suppliers and evaluate costs. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
Work Environment: The role involves working in an office setting with occasional visits to suppliers and manufacturing sites.
