Job Summary:The Procurement Officer is responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and subcontracted services essential for construction projects, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency. Supplier and Vendor Management:
Source and establish relationships with suppliers specializing in construction materials and services.
Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure the best quality at competitive rates.
Develop and maintain a database of reliable suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and supply.
Project-Based Purchasing:
Coordinate with project managers to understand specific material and equipment needs for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Issue purchase orders and manage order tracking to ensure on-time delivery at construction sites.
Prioritize critical materials based on project schedules to avoid delays.
Quality and Compliance Assurance:
Conduct quality checks on materials delivered to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.
Handle returns, replacements, or refunds in cases of substandard or non-compliant materials.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, health, and safety standards in procurement processes.
Cost Management and Budgeting:
Monitor procurement budgets across multiple projects to prevent overspending.
Implement cost-saving initiatives, negotiating terms with suppliers to reduce overhead.
Track procurement expenses and provide regular reports to management.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain up-to-date records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.

Risk Management:

Qualifications:
