Responsibilities
• Identify and source reliable suppliers and vendors for logistics-related goods and services.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate contracts, and establish agreements that optimize value for money.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely procurement of materials.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement orders to meet operational requirements while minimizing carrying costs.
• Implement inventory control measures to ensure accurate stock records and timely replenishment.
• Analyze pricing and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
• Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring expenditures align with financial plans and goals.
• Track and report cost savings achieved through effective procurement practices.
• Collaborate with logistics and transportation teams to coordinate timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and optimize shipping routes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
• Resolve logistical issues and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships, contract management, and procurement operations.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to procurement procedures and standards.
• Prepare and present procurement reports, including performance metrics and key insights, to management.
• Analyze data related to procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends to support informed decision-making.
Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role within the logistics industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective supplier relationships.
• Familiarity with logistics operations, including inventory management and transportation logistics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
