:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Procurement Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the construction industry, and a strong understanding of civil engineering practices. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials and services for large-scale construction projects in the GCC region.
Key Responsibilities :
• Procurement Management : Manage the procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery.
• Vendor Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
• Contract Management : Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
• Budget Control : Assist in budgeting for construction projects, ensuring procurement activities stay within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Project Coordination : Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and requirements.
• Material Sourcing : Source and purchase construction materials such as steel, concrete, heavy equipment, and other civil engineering materials, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Compliance : Ensure that procurement activities comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly those specific to the GCC region.
• Risk Management : Identify potential risks in procurement and supply chain processes, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Supplier Evaluation : Regularly evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, and delivery, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Reporting : Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and cost savings to senior management.
Requirements :
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement within the construction industry in the GCC region .
• Strong knowledge of construction materials , methods, and suppliers in the GCC.
• In-depth understanding of procurement procedures and contract management.
• Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient in using procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards in the GCC is highly preferred.
