Job Description

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Knowledge in procurement or supply chain management -Civil/ Construction Exp.

4-6 years of experience in civil construction, ideally in procurement, supply chain, or materials management.

Experience in construction project management or as a field engineer is valuable.

Knowledge of construction materials and equipment (concrete, steel, heavy machinery, etc.) and their specifications, suppliers, and pricing trends.

Proficiency in procurement processes such as RFQs, RFPs, purchase orders, and contract management.

Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.

Ability to assess suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, and sustainability criteria.

Ability to work within project schedules and align procurement timelines with project phases.

Familiarity with construction project lifecycles and the materials or equipment needed at each stage.

Knowledge of project cost control to stay within budgetary limits.

Understanding of construction codes, standards, and regulations relevant to material procurement.

Awareness of quality standards to ensure materials meet required specifications.

Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations to ensure compliant and sustainable sourcing.

Ability to perform cost analysis and forecast project expenses based on procurement plans.

Understanding of financial principles related to purchasing, such as cash flow management, credit terms, and cost-benefit analysis.

Familiarity with vendor financing and payment schedules that align with project funding.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, project managers, and site engineers.

Ability to coordinate deliveries with site managers to minimize delays.

Skills to resolve conflicts or delays in the supply chain quickly and effectively.
