Procurement Engineer in Oil and Gas Industry
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our dynamic team in the oil & gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing procurement activities related to equipment, materials, and services essential for oil and gas projects. The Procurement Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost?effective procurement while adhering to industry standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and industry best practices.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to acquire quality equipment, materials, and services within budgetary constraints.
Coordinate with engineering, project management, and other departments to understand procurement needs and specifications.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and maintain a supplier database.
Analyze and review supplier proposals, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with project specifications and legal requirements.
Manage the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any supply chain issues or discrepancies.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, including delivery times, quality of products/services, and overall reliability.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
In?depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
Familiarity with oil and gas equipment, materials, and services.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem?solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in using procurement software/tools and MS Office Suite.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Understanding of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
