General Purpose of Role: Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner for meeting objectives. Applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis. Is fully conversant in the profession and proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices. May serve as a technical consultant in an area of specialty. May provide discipline supervision for one larger or one or more smaller projects. Key Accountabilities: Business Development Support- Assists business development activities by maintaining an up to date personal profile and resume. Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors. Supports proposals by developing the discipline execution strategy, estimating costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers. May be called upon to lead all or part of the technical proposal. Business Operations- Supports the business by communicating team resource loading and skill requirements to a direct supervisor or Discipline Manager. Ensures the project work is covered for vacation and unplanned absences. Mentors/trains and supports the delivery of training. Assists in the employee performance review process . Facilitates coverage of activities when people leave the team. Encourages knowledge of and compliance with requirements and processes. Works to resolve inter-discipline, vendor, and customer issues. Ensures discipline technical work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. Technical Competency Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates. Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings. Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment. Expert knowledge in design & selection of Rotating equipment for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects of comparable complexity and value is essential. Good understanding and previous experience of Gas Dehydration Unit (GDU and Polymerisation units EDC, VCM, PVC etc is essential Experience in study work, cost estimation and assessment of existing equipment for new process duties is essential. Experience in CONCEPT / SELECT / DEFINE phase activities, Detailed Design and EPC phase, procurement of equipment and management of third parties is preferred. Experience with Consultant or owner or Project Management Consultant (PMC) organisation in the execution of similar projects is preferable. Participation in projects in Middle East is preferred, ADNOC experience is preferred. Expert knowledge in pressure vessel design code ASME VIII and manufacture requirements such as PWHT requirements, NDE requirements, material of construction, nozzle details, nozzle loads, code of construction, fireproofing requirement, painting, insulation, wind loads, seismic loads, equipment interface, thickness analysis and other assessments. Manage the development of equipment specifications for static equipment such as tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, Air fin coolers and other process packages etc., Must have an advanced understanding of their controls, power supply, utility requirements, environmental regulation requirements. Advanced understanding of metallurgy specifications in accordance with process requirements and manage the development of Mechanical Datasheets. Complete checking and reviewing of deliverables to ensure their quality. Ensure compliance to company procedures and processes and support technical peer reviews. Is able to complete equipment selection studies for new equipment and adequacy studies of existing equipment with modified process parameters. Conduct document checking and design verification tasks for compliance to company and project specifications Conduct interdisciplinary coordination activities. Demonstrate capability to actively engage in client workshops covering design review, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, sustanability, reliability, quality reviews etc. Has experience in discipline Basis of Design development and equipment selection philosophy. Should have knowledge of other international codes and standards, statutory and regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore / offshore engineering practices applicable to mechanical static equipment engineering design for oil and gas / refinery / petrochemical facilities. Familiarity with ADNOC Standards and procedures would be an advantage. Extensive knowledge of procurement support and package management for equipment purchase. The candidate shall demonstrate knowledge in typical engagement covering manufacturer ITP, sub-supplier order, material certification, welding, NDE and testing procedures, manufacture hold points, stage payment, FAT and inspection release. Previous experience and competence in completing site visit to client site, information gathering and lision with client representative.
