Job Description

Job PurposeDesign and lead the implementation of Nuclear Procurement Engineering (NPE) processes, policies and procedures, and provide subject matter expertise and technical support across core engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control) in performance of NPE activities.Key Activities, Responsibility & AccountabilityResponsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Monitor and populate component Bill of Materials to ensure procurement readiness.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of all NPE data including material masters in SAP to enable efficient inventory queries.
  • Lead the identification and cataloguing of critical spares to ensure all materials are accounted for in the inventory.
  • Analyze NPE data to validate fidelity of NPE records through lead the cleansing processes.
  • Verify and analyze NPE evaluation results for material and services to determine the safety class, technical and quality requirements, and storage requirements for generic specifications to enable efficient replacement of high volume inventory.
  • Lead and provide guidance to the review of critical characteristics, verification method, and acceptance criteria for commercial grade dedication of items for use in nuclear applications to ensure they meet nuclear criteria.
  • Assess and analyze Item Equivalency Evaluation results on alternate replacement items for obsolete plant components and parts to validate proposed replacements.
  • Monitor and verify cost savings by using technical expertise to identify technically equivalent alternate procurement strategies.
  • Recommend resolution of technical discrepancies identified during material receipt inspection to ensure operational excellence.
  • Provide critical characteristics and technical criteria to Quality Assurance (QA) Division to support supplier evaluations and commercial grade surveys.
  • Lead and provide technical expertise during vendor audits and surveillances to meet quality standards.
  • Lead the identification and disposition of counterfeit, fraudulent, and suspect items to ensure quality.
  • Recommend resolution of bid evaluations and supplier deviations identified during contract procurement phase to minimize supplier risk and reduce costs.
  • Lead plant walk-downs to identify plant components and obtain information needed to support accurate procurement.
  • Assess stocking level requirements to ensure availability of materials whenever required.
  • Lead reverse engineering across core disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and controls disciplines) as needed to identify replacement options in support of Design Engineering.
  • Lead design change support across core disciplines as needed and act as NPE expert when interfacing with Design Engineering.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities (contd.)Design and continuously assess the NPE procedures and processes to ensure adherence to standards during implementation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Execute special assignments in support of the continual improvement of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) NPE process.
  • Lead benchmarking of industry leaders to improve NPE processes.
  • Lead and monitor self-assessments of NPE processes and performance to ensure compliance with procedures and identify gaps to industry best practices.
  • Provide support for NPE audits by internal and external QA organizations to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Function as a technical and work group leader in support of the NPE management.All individuals take personal responsibility for safety; follow company HSE policies, procedures and instructions; avoid complacency and continuously challenge existing conditions and activities in order to identify discrepancies that might result in error or in appropriate action; report any situation that could present a hazard; not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the environment.
  • Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others, and corporate assets.
  • Follow all relevant Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for compliance with, and adherence to, policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents and/or business disruptions in order to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.
Professional CertificationsQualificationsBachelor\'s Degree in Engineering or related Science.Experience12 years of Engineering experience, out of which:
- 8 years in a nuclear power plant.
- 5 years in Procurement Engineering.
