Job PurposeLead all Geomechanics and Structural Geology activities in ADNOC and its Group Companies in addition to SPC companies and new Joint Ventures in Abu Dhabi in close coordination with Geoscience Specialist(s). Advocate and implement advanced Geomechanics and Structural Geology technologies and best practices to improve efficiency, profitability and performance across ADNOC and its Group Companies. Establish, manage and drive Geomechanics and Structural Geology community of practice in ADNOC and its Group Companies to build organizational capability and awareness.Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
Provide Geomechanics and Structural Geology support to exploration, operation, development and drilling studies. Review and coordinate Geomechanics and Structural Geology input required for generation of reports, geological maps and reservoir models.
Support evaluation and optimization of proposals for Geomechanics and Structural Geology studies or data gathering activities such as logging jobs, coring jobs, side-wall cores, etc. by Group Companies. SPC companies and new Joint Ventures and offer advice on the scope of the studies and extent of data gathering activities.
Establish, execute and manage group-wide technical guidelines to improve operational efficiency and maximize group profitability. Assess Geomechanics and Structural Geology-related activity in ADNOC Group of Companies regularly, and ensure that the technical guidelines to optimise long-term solutions and maximize value are being applied
Supervise and assess interpretation and reservoir characterization projects carried out by ADNOC and its Group Companies, SPC companies, contractors, new Joint Venture partners and other third parties in OPCO joint ventures, on behalf of ADNOC, for joint ADNOC-third party studies or otherwise.
Provide technical support to all Geomechanics and Structural Geology activities in ADNOC and its Group Companies in addition to SPC companies and new Joint Ventures in close coordination with Geoscience and Engineering Specialist(s).
Advocate and implement advanced Geomechanics and Structural Geology technologies and best practices to improve efficiency, profitability and performance across ADNOC and its Group of Companies.
Lead ADNOC and its Group Companies Geomechanics and Structural Geology subject matter champions to develop, manage and implement technical standards and guidelines to seek excellence as one ADNOC.
Leverage experience, knowledge and insights to direct technical Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Ensure application of optimal Geomechanics and Structural Geology sequence and parameters at milestone stages of the Geomechanics and Structural Geology projects are consistent with ADNOC technical standards.
Establish, manage and drive Geomechanics and Structural Geology discipline network in ADNOC and its Group Companies to maximize ADNOC corporate value.

PhD degree preferredMinimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
20 years of experience in all aspects of Geomechanics and Structural Geology including modeling design and planning, recording operations, processing, interpretation and seismic reservoir characterization.
Expert knowledge of 1D/3D Geomechanics modelling and simulation and Well Bore Stability studies.
Expert knowledge of Geomechanical and Structural Geology models to optimize fracture stimulation, optimize drilling and well placement; minimize reservoir compaction, and surface subsidence.
Expert knowledge of stresses and mechanical properties for a formation, field, or basin to practical, cost-effective solutions to Geomechanical and Structural Geology problems.
Professional CertificationsPublished multiple papers including first Author publications in journals or conference proceedings; preferably peer reviewed.
