:Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Pipeline Integrity Engineer to be part of Digital Consulting Wood Abu Dhabi for a permanent role.Pipeline Integrity focused Principal Engineer role within the Wood Asset Life Optimization (ALO) group supporting the Integrity Management Specialist Engineering team.This is a senior role based in our Abu Dhabi office which will contribute to the delivery of pipeline integrity projects via:
Definition and approval of technical scopes.
Executing assigned scopes of work.
Providing discipline expertise to the business.
Contributing to business growth.
Manage and supervise pipeline integrity team.
Uses advanced technical knowledge to perform engineering and integrity assignments and produce deliverables including complex problems and to complete any project tasks with minimal guidance and direction.Serve as the Lead Engineer or the project Technical Authority on projects and hold advanced level specialisation in one or more areas of expertise.Functions as a technical specialist who develops applications, hypothesis, approaches and applies advanced engineering concepts to unique engineering problems. Provides technical reviews for complex project within the area of expertise.In addition to specialization, directs highly qualified professionals engaged in complex engineering projects.Has authority for a portfolio of consulting projects, managing, and providing technical direction and integrity based guidance, managing client relationship and project team engagement, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risk.Responsibilities:Definition and approval of technical scopes.
Assists in establishing project aims and outcomes to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling projects.
Makes recommendations on project organization requirements, work methods and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own or various engineering disciplines.
Executing and managing assigned scope of work.
Supervises and participates in delivery of complex engineering and integrity based tasks and projects.
Manage project execution in terms of main contract deliverables, scope compliance, quality and profitability.
Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting technical requirements and complex coordination requirements.
Exercises mature technical judgement in devising practical, economical solutions.
Assesses work against standards, aims and specifications.
Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
Organising, active participation and occasional leading of technical workshops.
Regularly work from and represent Wood in client office.
Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
Providing discipline expertise.
Responsible for data collection and gathering of information of multiple sources for preparation of integrity studies.
Leading engineering assessments based on applicable codes (e.g API 579, BS7910, ASME B31G, NG18, Shannon and Kastner assessment methods, DNVRP F101 etc.
Carry out Pipeline Integrity management for all sizes & lengths of client\'s pipelines. Equipment assessment experience is desirable.
Prepare Integrity assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, Direct Assessment reports for life extension.
Provide recommendations for repair and methodology configuration to be adopted for repair, time frame for repair etc.
Represent discipline on contract / project / service line.
Proactively supports the introduction of innovation, new ideas and practices to improve overall performance.
Support and provide technical input for life extension studies of aged assets.
Develop and implement pipeline integrity management systems.
Contributing to business growth.
Contributes to business development through regular engagement, relationship building and delivery to clients, as well as identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand scope of work for Wood.
Contributes to engineering bids and proposals.
Manage and supervise pipeline integrity team.
Manage a team of 3 to 5 people including collaboration with other Wood offices.
Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to direct reports.
Provides technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff.
Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities. Provides coaching and mentoring for less experienced staff, supports the development and retention of motivated and competent people.
Directs work assignments, scheduling, and reviews of work in progress.
Manage a portfolio of projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resource allocation and risk.
Supervises delivery of consultancy projects.
Provide appropriate HSSE leadership including compliance with site and office safety requirements and technical/design safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Suitable engineering/metallurgical degree and education from a recognised Academic institution.
Chartership, Professional Engineer (PE) status or equivalent relevant professional license/registration from a recognized national or industry engineering institution is desirable.
Significant experience (
10 years) working in the on- and offshore oil and gas industry. * Demonstrable senior technical experience in Integrity Management and engineering project management.
Demonstratable experience in the selection, application, and utilization of pipeline integrity management software.
