As a senior technical expert within the System Design department, the successful candidate will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of providing advanced technical leadership and guidance in the Initial System Design function. This role stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence, as the Principal Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and ensuring the utmost feasibility of our new missile products. We are looking for an individual who not only possesses profound expertise but also embodies a strategic vision, contributing significantly to the continued success and advancement of our missile and weapons technology.Key Accountabilities:
Possess proven knowledge and expertise in Missile Design, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in missile systems.
Conduct extensive technology landscaping in Missile Design, Aerodynamics, Guidance Navigation and Control, and AI domains, utilizing advanced tools such as Ansys or equivalent.
Independently conduct thorough feasibility studies, leveraging proven knowledge and specialized tools to evaluate the technical and economic viability of proposed concepts.
Take the lead in assessing emerging technologies in Missile Design, Aerodynamics, Guidance Navigation and Control, and AI, applying in-depth understanding and insight along with expertise.
Drive the development of innovative product concepts independently, showcasing a deep understanding of client requirements and technological advancements in the missile and weapons field, employing specialized tools for Aerodynamics analysis.
Independently create and meticulously review comprehensive system design documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with established missile design principles.
Lead the process of estimating initial program costs, drawing on proven knowledge, experience, to set realistic schedules for implementation.
Demonstrate advanced technical support in client presentations, leveraging proven knowledge and specialized tools for Aerodynamics analysis, contributing significantly to the successful sale of proposed concepts.
Collaborate with stakeholders to establish new projects, providing expert technical expertise and support derived from a proven background in missile design, including the use of specialized tools for Guidance, Navigation and Control.
Engage in the development and enhancement of existing tools.
Offer expert advice and insights to the Head of System Design, leveraging proven knowledge and specialized tools in strategic decision-making and technology roadmap development.
Ensure seamless integration of proven technical expertise and specialized tools into the establishment of new projects, enhancing the overall success of the System Design Department.
Experience & Education Qualifications:
Minimum: 10 years of relevant experience in missile design and initial system design. In-depth knowledge of aerodynamics, guidance navigation and control systems, and artificial intelligence as applied to missile technology.
Preferred: 12+ years prior experience in the defense or aerospace industry. Published research or technical contributions in the field of Aero, Guidance, Navigation or related disciplines
Minimum: Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or a related field
Preferred: Master\'s or Ph.D. in Missile Design, Engineering, or a related field
