:Wood is presently looking to hire a Principal E&I Designer on a Gas metering project with Saudi Aramco to be based the contractor\'s (CPECC) office in Dubai. Below are more details about the position.Responsibilities:
Develops working drawings, within company and industry standards and codes, from equipment specifications and detailed drawings to support completion of engineering deliverables
Creates drawings involving plans, layouts, calculations and bills of material
Works on assignments involving a variety of design procedures and techniques
Ensure compliance with E&I related work. Raise query if any to engineering team proactively
Provide support on material availability to the construction contractor, liaise with material coordinator and engineering team.
Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers
Records observations, performs calculations and prepares reports on assignments
Performs layouts, design and checking work from the basic data supplied
Designs and makes detail drawings from rough sketches involving intricate calculations and the application of fundamental engineering principles
Establishes project drafting standards and monitors their conformance
Identifies cost effective solutions to design problems
Assists in the preparation of bid evaluations
Designs and constructs models, prototypes, processes or equipment; compiles and evaluates data, makes recommendations, prepares reports
Prepares estimates of time, quantities, materials and labour required for activities related to testing, installation, manufacture, design or construction
Generates bill of materials from finished designs
At more experienced levels, may act as coordinator on small projects, prepares specifications for complex equipment, processes, etc
Ensures quality in design, technical accuracy in the preparation of drawings, material quantities, etc including reviewing others work at more senior levels
Plans assigned work effectively and obtains/provides information liaising with the project team and line manager, in time to control man-hours and achieve targets
Carries out site visits / surveys and provides inputs to site visit reports
Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management
Coordinate within members of discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc
Participate in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out
Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
Qualifications:
Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
Minimum 15 years of experience
A full understanding of the materials and methods normally used in Electrical and Instrumentation discipline an understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required
Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs, SLD\'s, Load schedule and Line Lists
Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans
Competent user of CAD/2D software
PDS, PDMS, SP3D 3D Modeling or 2D Drafting
