The Role

Job Title: Principal Architect Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Architect with strong conceptual design capabilities, front-end architecture skills, and proficiency in hand sketching. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on large-scale projects across the MENA region, and be comfortable in client-facing roles. The Principal Architect will be expected to manage 3-4 teams while leading in the architectural design and execution of prestigious projects. Requirements

Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership: Lead the design direction for major architectural projects, from concept through to construction. Deliver innovative and practical solutions for complex design challenges while ensuring alignment with client vision, technical requirements, and local regulations. Conceptual Design & Front-End Development: Create and develop compelling design concepts, producing high-quality hand sketches and digital drawings. Lead the development of architectural ideas from inception to final design, collaborating closely with senior design staff and clients. Team Management: Oversee and manage 3-4 teams of architects and designers, ensuring smooth project execution, timelines, and quality of output. Mentor and guide junior architects, helping them grow and improve their design skills. Client-Facing Role: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, presenting design concepts, discussing project developments, and ensuring that the design process meets client expectations. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Project Coordination: Manage the architectural process on large-scale projects, coordinating between different disciplines, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Sustainability & Innovation: Promote sustainable design practices and innovative architecture in all project phases. Incorporate smart design strategies that align with local context and environmental goals. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards. Maintain high standards of architectural quality and ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and on-time. Requirements: Educational Background: RIBA, AIA, or equivalent professional registration. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role. Proven experience working on large-scale projects in the MENA region, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Strong understanding of local building codes, standards, and regulations in Dubai and the UAE. Technical Skills: Expertise in conceptual design, front-end design development, and hand sketching. Proficient in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite). Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearly to clients, teams, and stakeholders. Leadership & Management: Ability to lead and inspire teams while managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Experience in managing multiple teams simultaneously across large-scale projects. Client Engagement: Strong client-facing skills with a confident and professional demeanor. Ability to present and defend design ideas and concepts to clients and stakeholders. Cultural & Regional Knowledge: Experience working in the MENA region and understanding of local cultural, environmental, and regulatory contexts. Preferred Skills: Strong ability in hand sketching to communicate ideas clearly and rapidly. Knowledge of sustainable and smart design practices.
