Job Description

Job Summary: The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a press brake machine to bend, form, and straighten sheet metal and other materials according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation:
• Set up and operate press brake machines to produce parts to specified dimensions.
• Select appropriate tooling and materials based on job specifications.
• Program the machine controls and adjust settings to achieve desired bends and angles.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and tolerance specifications.
• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to correct any deviations.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and ensure machines are in proper working condition.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the work area clean and organized to prevent accidents.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including material usage and machine maintenance.
• Complete job tickets and production reports as required.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and issues.
• Technical Skills:
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors to ensure accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with the press brake machine.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a press brake operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools.
• Ability to lift and handle materials up to [weight limit] pounds.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certification or training in machine operation or metal fabrication.
• Experience with CNC press brake machines.
• Knowledge of various metals and their properties.
