As a Precast Structural Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and engineering aspects of precast concrete structures, managing the process from concept design over basic design all the way to fabrication and installations drawings. Your role involves managing a team of structural designers and engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop efficient and innovative precast solutions that meet project requirements.Reporting to: Chief EngineerKey Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of structural designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentoring.
• Delegate tasks, set project priorities, and ensure efficient workflow management.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional development and growth opportunities for team members

Precast Design and Engineering:

• Develop and implement design strategies and methodologies for precast concrete structures.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to understand project objectives and constraints.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct structural analyses, calculations, and feasibility studies to optimize precast designs.

Project Management:

• Plan and schedule design activities, considering project milestones and deadlines.
• Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Monitor progress, identify potential issues, and propose corrective actions to ensure project success.
• Conduct regular design reviews to assess quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders to establish effective communication channels.
• Participate in design coordination meetings, offering technical expertise and addressing design-related concerns.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, quality control, and construction, to optimize project outcomes.
• Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and technical documentation to internal and external audiences.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in precast design and construction.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and innovation.
• Implement quality control measures to enhance design accuracy and minimize errors.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for product development and improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of previous experience in Construction as Structural Engineer or similar preferable with some management role.
• Strong experience in precast concrete design and engineering. (10 Years +)
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools (e.g., Etabs, SAFE, SAP2000, Concise Beams, AutoCAD, Revit).
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g. ACI, PCI, ASCE)
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
