The Department of Geosciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral research position in Engineering Geology-Rock Mechanics with Geosciences background. The successful candidate will receive 6-9 months appointment. The selected candidate will contribute to an ongoing research project titled Utilizing Geological Strength Index to Development of Bearing Capacity Chart for Jointed Weak Carbonate Rocks, Al Ain city, Abu Dhabi Emirate. The key responsibilities include: conducting geological fieldwork including rock sampling, hammer test, etc; preparing core samples, cutting, trimming, measuring, etc; performing laboratory tests such as UCS, ITS, PLT on core samples, analysing test results, reporting, and preparing high-quality manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals, collaborating with research teams within UAEU and other institutions, and contributing to knowledge exchange and project success.
