JOB PURPOSE

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will work within Center for Public Opinion Polls in (RIHSS) and assist its members in relevant research projects. Your responsibilities will include:



• Building and enhancing the capacity and capability of the Center for Public Opinion Polls Team
• Collecting and analyzing data and writing technical reports
• Building on-site scales and indicators


Developing and designing organizational and societal policies and strategies

•




MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS • Carrying out studies and surveys and collecting data for various research projects as well as analyzing them
• Studying, in collaboration with relevant family institutions, the needs of groups such as the elderly, parents, mothers, adolescents, people of determination, and the youth, in addition to societal and economic issues
• Building comprehensive statistical indicators that relate to societal issues in accordance with local, regional and international standards
• Adapting scientific international tests and measurements to the local UAE environment
• Training research assistants and students, especially graduates, on how to conduct relevant research
• Publishing research findings and presenting them in meetings and conferences


Abiding by all University rules and regulations relevant to work procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS • The ability to manage a project.
• Communication and writing skills in English and Arabic.
• Prior advanced knowledge in new data analysis software, and visualization, in addition to preparing reports and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.

Willingness to work in a collaborative environment and readiness to receive constructive feedback from colleagues.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS • Educational background in Public opinion Polls, Social sciences, Political Science, Research methods or a related field.
• Experience in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and presenting them scientifically.
• Experience in managing research projects and submitting applications for external grants.


Relevant publications indexed in SCOUPS and research experience.
