Reporting to the Program Manager, Program Director/Director/Principal Investigator, and other co-PIs. To provide high quality research work by applying statistical programming and related methods and scientific expertise to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical research studies.To undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University.Strategic Responsibilities

• Scope relating to research projects as assigned by line manager.
• Perform research-related activities including research question formulation, efficient literature review, data collection, data analysis, write up of a full manuscript (background, methods, results, discussion, conclusion sections, referencing), submitting for publications as requested.
• Working closely with colleagues to help interpret findings and draft manuscripts and other reports for publication.

Operational ResponsibilitiesResearch related tasks

• Participate in scientific research as a professionally responsible member of the research team
• Participates in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantitative data using appropriate computer software programs.
• Participate in problem exploration, and definition, planning of the approach and sequence of steps, execution of experiments or studies, interpretation of findings, documentation and reporting of results and progress, maintenance of research records and compliance to all established policies and procedures
• Drafts and summarizes statistical analyses and draws appropriate research conclusions, in clearly written reports using appropriate tables and graphs.
• Ensures ethical use, presentation, and interpretation of data.
• Publish research results in a journal appropriate to the field in a timely manner, may present findings at meetings

Administrative related tasks

• Contribute to the overall activities of the research team as requested.
• Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
• Ensure timely and efficient response to assigned tasks and responsibilities
• Mentorship of colleagues through supporting capacity building activities (i.e. presentations, trainingsxe2x80xa6etc.)

General

• Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in working with various stakeholders, physicians, and the public or private entities.
• Ensures adherence to the University's information and data security policies and procedures, and reports breaches or other security risks accordingly.
• Ensures coordination with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
• Performs any other tasks assigned by the line manager
• Supports periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear, and workflow is running smoothly.
• Ensures delivery of tasks as per the set timelines.
• Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work.
• Complete required courses and trainings as requested.
• Language competency in English and (Gulf) Arabic
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Sensitivity towards potentially challenging emotional situations

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

• PhD from a reputable university in an appropriate discipline.
• Relevant degree or statistical training (e.g. PhD, Preferably Biostatics, Statistics, Public Health, or Epidemiology);
• Experience of statistical or other programming languages to manipulate large-scale datasets with epidemiology information (excellent data management and analysis skills) - e.g. Python, R;
• Strong quantitative skills and analytical reasoning applied to observational data;
• A track record of authoring scientific publications.
